Day 147 | FEBRUARY 04, 2022

Good Evening Friends, today is day 147 of our new and amazing life!

Today was a good day.

I arrived at the hospital around 3pm today, and Charlie was seated in her chair, very excited to tell me about her day .

Today the first step to start the decannulation , was done they replace her cuffed collar into a uncuffed one, they will do a 24H test, to ensure Charlie can breath on her own , and tomorrow of all goes well they would proceed with the decannulation and Charlie would be free from her tracheae collar 🙂! Please pray that does happen tomorrow, because as we know by now, it is very hard for anything be done on the weekend at a hospital 😞

Charlie did a great PT session and she is really improving her mobility and is able to start to use her hands again. She did a great job , coloring the spiderman coloring book that she and London color together.

We also listened to two talks from Bishop Robert Barron and Charlie really enjoyed the way he explains different topics from a Christian and Catholic point of view.

We also watched an action movie. Today was one of Tom Clancy movies. Charlie does enjoy action / war movies.

I brought dinner for Charlie , my mother made her delicious lasagna and one of Charlie’s favorite Brazilian food, “Bolinho de arroz” , fried rice balls , she was in heaven 🙂

Our visit today was just so pleasant, I think that the idea of being discharged is now real, so we are just in an incredible state of gratitude.

Charlie asked me to Thank you for all of your prayers and support.

It is just amazing to see how many of the nurses are genuinely inspired by Charlie , there is always someone that comes to Charlie’s door and stops just to say hi , she is so loved there .

May God Bless You .

André

Cheering on Charlie.

On Friday, September 10th, Charlie Anne Xavier was in a horrific and life-changing accident. Though she’s surprising her doctors and nurses daily with her incredible strength and resilience, this road to recovery will be an incredibly long one.
