Day 45 | OCTOBER 25, 2021
Good Evening Friends, today is day 45 of our new and amazing life.
Mondays are always busy at work, so after a busy morning, I headed to the hospital.
As I left Charlottesville, with beautiful fall weather, sunny and crisp air, And as I approached Richmond, I noticed the dark clouds and soon the heavy rain started, but I was already at the parking garage, so I didn’t get wet.
Charlie was awake upon my arrival, I asked how was she doing it and she said in a lot of pain, so today her pain was worse than yesterday, we chatted for few minutes, about tomorrow’s lunch for the first responders, and she asked me to tell them how much she appreciated their efforts in helping to save her life and how grateful she is for their heroism.
After our talk, Charlie told me she wanted to rest and take a nap, as she rested listening to music from Jack Jhonson on her little speaker, I once again seat on the chair next to her and just contemplate our current situation, and how I could never ever imagine that we would be here, and how hard this new journey is going to be for Charlie, when she is in pain my heart aches for her , but I am so grateful that we are both here in this room. I am still marveled with the miracle of Charlie’s survival, God is absolutely amazing, and I am so grateful for Charlie’s life. Not only for myself, but specifically for our boys, I just could not imagine life where Charlie would not be present in our life’s. We are so blessed .
Charlie has been given a little more control, now she can push a button to release a little bit of pain medication on her own, this should provide her a little more control and also less anxiety since she can now give herself some pain meds as she need. Thank you Nurses
As the time for me to leave approached, Charlie woke up and asked to watch a movie, so tonight movie was Jumanji , I was able to watch 20 minutes with her before I had to go, Charlie continued to watch her movie and seemed to really enjoy it
Tomorrow is another busy day for Charlie, she will go to the OR to remove the bandages on her CEA and to renew her allografts. I will be attending the Lunch for the first responders, I am excited and nervous to meet the man and women that participate in the efforts to save my wife’s life. I pray that God gives me the words to thank them appropriately for their heroic efforts!
Thank you for your continued support and prayers.
