Day 42 | OCTOBER 22, 2021
Good Evening Friends, today is day 42 of our new and amazing life!
Today was a good day!
As planned I tried to arrive at the hospital today after Charlie was done with her air drying , and when I arrived at 2:40p she was not done , so I had to wait around 40 minutes before I could enter her room, Charlie once again did the full 4 hours, and today her doctor told me how impressed he is with her , and even the Epicel rep said, Charlie is the poster child of a patient! They are amazed how she can withstand the 4 hours without moving!!
Of course all this heroic effort comes at a price, Charlie is absolutely exhausted after the 4 hours procedure, and she slept for most of our visit, and that is absolutely ok! Because she needs to rest and she is healing fast and well.
I am so very grateful to God and your prayers, Charlie continues on the upward trajectory and she is absolutely rewriting the healing process for burn victims! All because of God, her incredible desire to live , love and our prayers!
Today her doctor was in a better mood and said, yes Charlie is healing very fast! And I am beyond impressed! I said well I told you so! And he said, yes you did and smiled and said, I will see you tomorrow, that made me happy today.
I want to clarify that I absolutely trust and appreciate her doctors and nurses, but I do have to highlight the difference between the science people and the people of faith! Please don’t think that I don’t trust or I don’t respect her doctors.
We can’t pretend that what is happening and has been happening for the last 40 days with Charlie is anything short of a miracle! And I know that for the outside world I may sound too optimistic, but this is what faith, hope and love makes you feel! Optimistic, grateful and joyful!
