Day 313 | JULY 20, 2022

Good evening, friends. Today is day 313 of our new and fantastic life.

Today was a good day!

Right after breakfast, I called Charlie. She had a good night and did well without the lidocaine drip, and around 10 am, they took her for her Road Show procedure; she called me around 12:30p to tell me that she was back in her room.

She was very sleepy after the procedure, so I told her to get some rest, and we would talk later.

Around 4 pm, she called and shared with me her surgeon report; he said that her grafts look spectacular! The only ones not so well are the two elbows; sadly, elbows are very difficult to heal, he said.

Starting tomorrow, Charlie will receive daily wound care, and as soon as she is healed, he will transfer her to Sheltering Arms once again, but that is still a few weeks away.

Her Doctor also was very impressed with Charlie's incredible healing of her scalp; he is genuinely interested in understanding how she can heal so fast; he will be taking a sample of her tissue for further research! I have told Charlie that I have no doubts that a few medical papers will be written about her case, and I am very interested in reading those because I want to see how much science can explain a true miracle.

Charlie is in good spirits; her pain is under control; she also learned that they had to use extra sedatives to keep her under during the procedure, which explains why she was so sleepy when she returned to her room.

I want to thank the many of you who donated blood today! It is so inspiring to see the good in action; your blood donations will save lives! Thank you for doing it in honor of Charlie! #pintsforcharlie

Thank you for your prayers, support, and generosity!

Tonight, I will start to write the last chapter of our book! It is still surreal to me that I became an author; I would never imagine it would be possible before the accident, but here we are.

How can you be so beautiful, Charlie Anne?! No make-up! Minutes out of surgery! I love you!

Thank you!

May God Bless You!

Cheering on Charlie.

On Friday, September 10th, Charlie Anne Xavier was in a horrific and life-changing accident. Though she’s surprising her doctors and nurses daily with her incredible strength and resilience, this road to recovery will be an incredibly long one.
