Day 240 | MAY 08, 2022
Good evening, Friends, today is day 240 of our new and amazing life!
Happy Mother’s Day to all moms here!
Today is the day the world celebrates our mothers. It is a beautiful reminder of how special they are.
However, in my humble opinion, EVERY DAY is Mother’s Day, the selfless mission of a mother happens every day, 24/7. I now know how much Charlie's maternal role did for our family, I can tell you with absolute conviction that I had to have 4 people to do the “job” that Charlie did single handed, and I also know that at your house, the same would happen if you no longer could be there for them.
Now that I have expressed my opinion of how amazing and valuable Mother’s and Mother's to be are, I will return to our celebration of today:)
Today my mother, our boys and our au pair, went to the Boars head for Mother’s Day brunch, and the food was delicious! The variety and quantity of food was impressive! It was great to see my mom out of the house for once and enjoying a meal not cooked by her, the boys also enjoyed their meal.
After Brunch, we returned home and All of us took a 1:30h nap 🙂 Thank you Julien for cooperating, once we woke up it was time to head to see Charlie!
We arrived right before 5pm, and Charlie looked beautiful in her Jean Jacket. We had a short but loving visit. The reason why it was short was because of the cold and windy weather. Sadly, we could just meet with the boys outside, but we made the best of it!
This was the third time my mother has seen Charlie since the accident and it was a very emotional visit, yesterday Charlie asked me to write a card for my mom for Mother’s Day, and I will just say this, the words in that Card were a true declaration of love and gratitude, these two amazing women, share a very special bond and I am the most blessed person in the world to have an incredible mother and a even more incredible wife! Wow!
The boys gifted Charlie their beautiful artwork from our friends at Picasso Swig! And Charlie loved it! She really loves handcrafted gifts.
Also today, for the first time, London asked me, Dad, how did mommy get hurt?!
I told Charlie about the question, and we decided that she should tell him about the accident. She did such an incredible job, telling him the truth, in a way that a 5-year-old could understand, and London was so engaged, and asked follow- up questions, like, how did the explosion happen?
It was an incredible conversation between Charlie and London. I can absolutely see how inspiring Charlie will be to our own sons. London was so excited at the end of the conversation, well done Charlie!
Here is the biggest takeaway of Charlie’s Motherly Love, it is the reason why she fought so hard to survive! Her love for our boys is what kept her alive! That is the power of Love! Particularly a Mother’s Love!
I created a special image about this love, feel free to share it.
Today is a day of Gratitude for our family, we have Charlie alive to celebrate Mother’s Day and for that we are so thankful to God!
I hope you have a blessed and happy Mother’s Day!
May God Bless You!
André
