Day 235 | MAY 03, 2022

Good evening, friends, today is day 235 of our new and amazing life!

Today was a good day.

Charlie had a busy day, she was a guest of honor at the Sheltering Arms Institute, today they officially inaugurated their Bridge Garden. They have waited a long time for this space to open and be ready.

Today was the first time, Charlie was introduced to a crowd as a burn survivor, I can’t even imagine how it feels to have this honorable title of burn survivor, Charlie told me that she felt proud, as I mentioned not long ago, Charlie is now ready to embrace her given mission, to tell her story of strength, faith and love to the world.

I would like to thank the folks at the Sheltering Arms Foundation for the kindness and compassion towards Charlie, we are so appreciative of your support.

On this special bridge garden, was where Charlie and I set together outside for the first time! They were kind enough to add a passage of my journal into the program, but if every patient can feel the connection with nature and God that Charlie and I felt that day, it will make the bridge garden a sacred space at SAI.

Charlie really enjoyed the festivities, she loves to be social, and she also loves event food 🙂

I actually stayed back today, since Charlie had two special visitors, two friends that Charlie met at a very difficult time of her life, when her dad was fighting Cancer, and one of the friends was his oncology nurse.

Charlie’s dad, Mr. Mike Norton passed away 6 years ago, after fighting Cancer for 16 years! That is not a day that goes by, that Charlie and I don’t miss him, he would be so proud of Charlie, life has been very challenging at times for Charlie, but this is what makes her story even more impressive, she has always chosen to see the light, and to never give up! Now you know where some of her strength comes from!

Tonight, give that extra hug, and say I love you to your loved ones, each day is a gift.

I am so grateful for your generosity, love and support!

Have a good night and May God bless you!

Cheering on Charlie.

On Friday, September 10th, Charlie Anne Xavier was in a horrific and life-changing accident. Though she’s surprising her doctors and nurses daily with her incredible strength and resilience, this road to recovery will be an incredibly long one.
