Day 185 | MARCH 14, 2022

Good evening, Friends, today is day 185 of our new and amazing life!

Today I woke up and felt rested. I went to bed early last night.

I was anxious to see Charlie today and I made my way to see her earlier than usual, and I arrived there right at noon, just in time to see Charlie, standing up during her PT session today. She is starting to make visible progress on her drop foot and that is so exciting!!

The reason for my early arrival was to learn about her shower and wound care. Today I learned how to give Charlie a shower and her wound care, it is a very labor-intensive process, and it takes 2 to 3 hours to, shower, air dry and the wound care.

Charlie open wounds are mostly on her legs, and I can see the improvement from a week ago, I think she will need another week to 10 days, to see most of them healed, I will be honest, I have no idea, how Charlie is able to withstand the pain of the shower, we have to gently scrub her wounds!!

I can’t even start to process the pain she must feel, and yet, she doesn’t complain, she has this incredible playlist and she sings and crack jokes, it is an amazing experience to be part of her shower and wound care.

I also had a lesson on scar massage, so I spent a good amount of time massaging her scars on her left arm.

It is a surreal experience to be massaging her scars, to me it is such a bonding experience, I truly feel that my touch is providing her love and comfort.

After my half day with Charlie, I was exhausted!

I now appreciate Charlie’s amazing motivation! It takes a lot to do what she does, every single day.

Charlie continues to inspire me and my love for her keeps on growing day by day!

I am so grateful to have her alive and on the road to recovery, it is a very long journey, but I could not have asked for a better partner to be on this journey together!

We are both so grateful to God, her survival is truly a miracle, and we ask once again for another miracle for her recovery.

Thank you for your contiver support and prayers!

Please continue to sign up and share the blog, we still need more sign ups to reach the 1 k, come on you can do it!!!

Thank you

André

Hello friends, I intended to post this yesterday, but I could not do so. Here it is: Two years ago, life as we knew it ceased to exist; today is a day of mixed emotions, lots of gratitude but also ang

Cheering on Charlie.

On Friday, September 10th, Charlie Anne Xavier was in a horrific and life-changing accident. Though she’s surprising her doctors and nurses daily with her incredible strength and resilience, this road to recovery will be an incredibly long one.
