Day 10 | SEPTEMBER 20, 2021

Good Evening Friends, Day 10 of our new life .

Today was a really good day!

I arrived at the hospital around 3pm today, and the second I came across Charlie’s room she saw me through the glass and our eyes found each other. It was like the first time I saw her after we said I love you to each other . The excitement was so strong that she was waving her arms up and down! And had the biggest smile on her face! God, my heart is so warm, with this miracle moment.

Charlie remains off the ventilator and breathing on her own, she was very alert today due to reduced sedation and less pain meds.

She is so strong, her nurse told me on a normal patient they would use 5 to 8 mg of pain meds per dose, Charlie is at 1.5mg !!!

We managed to have a great conversation, I was reading her lips. She was once again in great spirits, she asked me to tell you how thankful she is for all the love and support.

We had good talks with several of her doctors, and she was able to express her own will to them, and they are very pleased with her progress so far.

She is a living miracle, there is no denying. I feel privileged to be at her side, her attitude towards this tragedy is already starting to impact some of the staff! She is an incredible inspiration!

The speech therapist came by and did a preliminary analysis. She will have to wait 2 or 3 weeks before they can switch her traquea tube to a smaller size, and that will allow her to speak. Very soon Charlie will be able to talk! I just can’t wait!!

You will see tomorrow a news story run by NBC29, on Charlie’s Accident, they reached out and I feel it was the right thing to do for Charlie and she agreed when I asked her today.

Today was a good day! Tomorrow she starts her surgeries and will have one every single day this week. She should have the weekend off .

May God Bless you all for your generosity, this group is just incredible and I will never forget your generosity and love !

Thank you,

André

Cheering on Charlie.

On Friday, September 10th, Charlie Anne Xavier was in a horrific and life-changing accident. Though she’s surprising her doctors and nurses daily with her incredible strength and resilience, this road to recovery will be an incredibly long one.
