Day 08 | SEPTEMBER 18, 2021
Good evening Friends, Day 8 of our new life.
Today I arrived at the hospital around 11am and I arrived while they were doing her wound care, so I was able to some of her injuries on her back , and I can’t explain why but it did not shock me , in a weird way I felt better by seeing vs imagining what the doctors have been telling me.
Charlie was agitated during the procedure, and as soon as it was over I already knew what the issue was, so I asked her, honey are you upset because of the way they handle your legs and knees ? And she shook the biggest YES!! So, I was able to talk with the nurses and once again explain that she has RA and that her legs can't bend or straighten abruptly. I also was able to get some special angle pillows to place under her knees. She was so happy to see that issue addressed. I am just realizing how important my daily presence is, because there is no consistency on the Nursing staff. But I am committed that by the end of the month, they will all have met me .
Shortly after that one of the Doctors in Residence came by and we talk for about 30 minutes about the next steps on Charlie’s Ventilator journey, and when we started Charlie heart rate was 132 and after our talk was down to 95, so the fact she was more comfortable with her knees and the information that was given to her , she was able to relax .
We managed to have a good amount of Communication and we really enjoyed each other’s company listening to music .
She remains stable today, and I am very excited to spend the whole day with her tomorrow.
I noticed that she is more alert during the day, so maybe I need to start coming early during the week. We shall see.
Charlie is in really good spirits, she is such an inspiration, I thank God everyday and I know that she will come home !
Thank you so much for your generosity and support! My family is forever grateful to you.
Thank you and God Bless you !
